When you use our mobile app, we may request certain device permissions to ensure proper functionality. These may include:
This section applies only where a JDAAS mobile application offers face-based employee attendance. If that feature is not enabled for a customer or user, we do not collect face data.
What face data we collect. We do not store the user’s facial photograph on our servers. On the user’s device, the app detects a face in a camera image and converts it into a numeric face embedding (a mathematical representation of facial features). We collect and store these embeddings, not the original face image.
How we use face data. Face embeddings are used only to confirm that the person marking attendance is the enrolled employee. Face data is not used for advertising, marketing, profiling, analytics, or any other purpose.
Sharing. Face data is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties, advertising networks, or analytics providers. Conversion of the camera image into an embedding is performed on the user’s device. Embeddings are transmitted over HTTPS to JDAAS-controlled servers used to operate that customer’s account.
Where face data is stored. Face embeddings are stored in the customer’s application database on JDAAS-controlled servers.
How long face data is retained. Face embeddings are retained only while the employee’s account remains active and face attendance remains enabled.
Deletion. Face embeddings are deleted when an authorized administrator resets the employee’s biometric data, when face attendance is disabled for that user, or when the employee account is deleted. Users may request deletion by contacting their employer’s administrator or JDAAS at info@jdaas.com.
